The longest journey begins with one step... take a dog with you!
Our mission is to change the stigma of shelter dogs and strays as being somehow ‘defective’ or being viewed as having ‘done something wrong’ to have been surrendered to the shelter system or thrown out in the streets. Many dogs suffer these fates through no fault of their own. These dogs are often thrown away due to the human’s circumstances, unwanted litters of puppies, or the inability to afford proper care. Our goal is to keep these wonderful dogs out of the shelters, off the streets, and place them into safe homes.
If we can spay/neuter 30 pairs of dogs and 30 pairs of cats in a community, it could prevent over 7 million animals from being born and potentially find themselves in shelters. There are 45 cats and dogs for every person born. Only 1 out of 10 dogs born ever finds a home. Only 1 out of 12 cats born ever find a home. 800 dogs and cats are killed EVERY HOUR in the U.S. because there are not enough homes for them. With your help we can decrease the number of unwanted animals in communities, and hopefully reduce the occurrences of euthanasia.
